Call for Research Grant Applications – Alopecia Areata
The National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) is now soliciting
research grant applications for research to be completed between
January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006. Applications will be accepted
from around the world and must serve to further NAAF’s
research goal toward a safe, viable treatment, and eventual cure
for alopecia areata.
There are five areas of emphasis for current NAAF research funding.
These five areas are inter-related and reflect the strong desire
of patients and clinician/scientists to move from basic biology
to applied research to find safe and effective treatments for
alopecia areata. Other areas of innovative research will be considered
based on scientific merit.
• Clinical Research
•
Genetics
•
Immunology
•
Use of Alopecia Areata Registry
•
Use of Alopecia Areata Mouse Model
The application can be conveniently completed and submitted
on-line. Additionally, applicants must send by regular mail (1)
one hard copy of their completed application, (2) signed copy
of the Research Grant Agreement, (3) Institutional Data Form
with all appropriate signatures, and (4) IRB approval documentation.
Applications and supporting materials must be submitted on-line
AND also received at the NAAF office no later than August 9,
